The home was built in 1915 by Hiram B. and Hettie Reynolds and housed their family of 5 children. This picture is believed to have been taken not long after it was built. When the United States government bought land for the base, the Reynolds land was included. The home was one of the few homes that was not torn down. It was used to house the commanding general and his family from 1942 until 1958. The home fell into disrepair afterwards and was renovated in the 1970s.
